![]() ![]() Xbox Live Gamertag: DaFunkk12 UCFLife profile [ link ] Facebook me! Play Catch27 Beware: Adding me to your Friends may result in frequent "Carl Bombing" of your Friends Page. I'm a 23-year old Filipino male Grad student at the University of Central Florida in Orlando. I am an [ INTP ]. Wear glasses and am afraid of contacts, so surgery is less of an option. Yes, I am a wuss. Shy around strangers but prone to do completely random things when in comfortable environments. Video games: One, I don't particularly go for sports games, not being entirely too physical in real life to begin with. Otherwise, I don't really have any standout favorite genres, but I do enjoy a good thrilling racing game. Gran Turismo is not thrilling by any means. I love using the wheel in arcades, but unfortunately the precision never seems to transfer to console steering wheels. I used to be Nintendo hardcore, but after being forced to get a PSone just for Dance Dance Revolution, I've lifted my restriction on console ownership. Make no mistake, I'm still totally loyal to the best video game company in the world. But the odd thing is that I read more about video games at least 20x more than I actually play them. Ask me how to beat a certain level in a certain game, and I might not be able to answer your question. Ask me about the history of the game's franchise, and you won't be leaving for a while. Movies: I don't do horror flicks. There were a few rare ones I actually wanted to see and did see, but those were statistical outliers. The Ring is the best movie I never want to see again. If you've seen the Japanese original, you too would ask why they wanted to port that POS to the US; must've been the novel. Otherwise, I'd give any other movie a go. Music: I'm not the dancing type (playing DDR does not constitute actual dancing), but I pretty much like any song that's a body-mover. Song. I tend to judge music on a per-song basis unless I've heard enough from a particular band to fully understand their sound and capabilities. The only politics I tend to follow these days is music politics. Artists make near jack on CD sales, whether you shop corporate or mom 'n pop or at the show. They make most of their money playing shows and selling merch. Therefore, free sharing of the music would, though taking away what little they made through CD sales, allow for far greater and less restrictive exposure of bands to new audiences, leading to likely greater draws to venues and fanbase. Unfortunately, since record companies are still very involved in arranging gigs, producing items to sell, and distribution of albums and merch, totally killing them off would possibly turn out to be a bad thing. Talents & skills: I'm attempting to learn the guitar. Getting there, but my fingertips aren't making things easy. I also write the occasional song and poem, and am working on developing a short story. And uh...I can't think of anything else. The journal is likely to be a random collection of links to interesting sites with a dash of how-my-day-went's and loads of random thoughts in between. And occasionaly should I fall into a downer mood and am visited by a muse, there may be a bit of poetry. "It's no use to talk if you can't scream it out loud." - Quarashi, Fuck You Puto "She's not like me, she's got things to do. And she's got friends, too. But I can still pull through." - Inspection 12, Secure "no one knows me and no one knows the things i do they see me on the outside but inside i'm blue i hide from the people that i need the most and i show disrepect for the holy ghost " - Bed Destroyers, Depression "And I'm not to look at you in the shoe, but the eyes, find the eyes" - Franz Ferdinand, Dark of the Matinee "Being happy doesn't mean everything is perfect. It means you have decided to look beyond the imperfections." "If a man comes to the door of poetry untouched by the madness of the muses, believing that technique alone will make him a great poet, he and his sane compositions never reach perfection, but are utterly eclipsed by the inspired madman." --Socrates ![]() | |||||||||
